Everfiremanor is a privately owned and operated bed and breakfast. Hidden minutes off the path, it's quiet, secure and beautiful. Ready for anything you could ask of it. And the best part? You're the only guest! You and whoever you bring. One person? Perfect! The place is yours, make yourself at home. Two? Lots of room. I'll leave you two alone. Three? That's how many beds there are. Four? That'll fill the top floor. Five, six? A cozy fireplace room on the ground floor can make it happen.

So how's this work? Well, the entire second floor is yours, where you'll find everything you need to survive with a smile for a night. You can come in the front door or use your own. The ground floor is 'open' and where a feast is served each morning at a time of your liking. Out the windows or at your feet, rests Roundlake. A sight named for its shape and offering 100 foot depths right off the dock. To watch it a gift. To join it however you can, what you won't be able to help do.

What's really worth noting? Seclusion. Quiet beautiful seclusion only minutes away from what makes you appreciate it. Just 12 short miles to the
highway or an extra 3 will get you to Kingston's new entertainment center
and 'shiny' downtown core. Sporting as local legend has it, more restaurants per capita than any other Canadian city. Or, 4 miles from my door will get you all the the 'little' things of necessity, like food and alcohol, firewood and pitchforks.

Okay, you're here. Now what? Well there's no television, I made sure of that. There are a couple of hundred movies ready, drawers full of board games, a humble library, and your own kitchenette. Outside, there's a windsurfer, kayak, canoe, paddle boat, barbeque and western exposure for the ritual sunset I've come to expect and look forward to.

Canada in the winter? 'Hmmm.... What would I like? Staying home. Not everyday, but today. Why? It's cold out and the fire's nice. It's quiet too. There's nothing for me out there I don't have here and the music sounds right. I would just as soon not get in the car. Can I just stay? When? Just today. I like it here. Feels right. No TV. No newspaper. No radio. The road? A friend of convenience, between you and me. He waits outside and bridges the gap between here and where this isn't. Friendly to all and pleasantly well groomed. I would set him free if I could and let him coil, but he stays the 'straight shooter'. All the way from why I left, to where you come from. He'll take you 12 miles to the highway where he'll wish you well. Where the four stand, and let him turn back. Wonder why you return to their keep on your own. Watch you blend into the scatter and see Kingston shine like it does in the foreground and wish that friend well too. His light lies within his own hands. Closing them returns him to my side. Mutual understanding gets us by. Night stays for dinner.

Springtime in Canada? Well, sitting outside becomes more appealing, or possible actually. Cold in the winter and sitting in it reserved for the very well rehearsed of course, leaving millions of Canadians anxious at their windows till around March 21st or later in cases. Depends on the wind really. He has the most to say and being outside makes it easier to hear. Makes you want to sit down with him and do all the talking. Takes things away from you like the glasses off your face. Reminds you that its time to come play and not to worry about what he did to the ice. He'll then wonder where the leaves went and I'll tell him again that I bagged them already. He'll say 'Do you ever get deja vu?' And I'll say 'Didn't you just ask me that?' Then we'll giggle like two morons and he'll watch me do things that need arms. Like more work. Springtime, remember? Things needed on the dock can be returned there, as the dock no longer resembles Siberia. Things like a paddle boat, windsurfer, kayak and canoe. They're all of a sudden more useful and ready to prove so. Waiting for someone to help them make it possible. Sitting around with all the other chairs.

Weddings:

Business? I would love to catch its eye. Appeal to those who live out of briefcases. Establish contact and become hard to ignore whenever passing through. Breakfast of course both optional and portable in nature. Packages for all made inviting, especially to the lone trusted single. Call to inquire, suggest, or for a tour. The house can be anything from entirely vacant to attentively catered so let me know what you're thinking.

Because we offer what we do one at a time, we would like to offer more each of those times. At least in terms of options. In the case of a wedding for instance, seclusion close to town is appealing, especially when you have the place to yourself. We offer a large eat in kitchen on the main floor that seats eight comfortably with the lake in the background and fire on repeat. The feel is open and the atmosphere delightful.

Ideal for groups that wish to get together somewhere different while up to four of them can stay the night upstairs. The second floor being yours and yours alone of course, while the main floor is always open. From breakfast and more so, to suggestion. Versatility the strength that needs assertiveness to be made useful. Please investigate further as weddings and associated positivity are welcome and met with open arms. So ask. We would love to hear ideas and possibly take part in the granting of wishes if even on a small scale.
